The COMPASS is used by many two-year colleges to determine the placement level of students in Math, English, and Reading as established by the Arkansas State Board of Higher Education. The test will last approximately two (2) hours. Approximately five (5) minutes will be used for preparation work. The results of these tests will be used to place students into the proper level of Reading, Math, and English.
The COMPASS test cost is $5.00, regardless of how many parts of the test are taken. Anyone wanting to take the COMPASS test on the Paragould Campus must call (870) 239 - 0969 to reserve a seat and make sure to bring your Picture ID with you on testing day. Anyone wanting to retake the rest must wait thirty days between testing.
A calculator may be used for the Algebra sections of the test, but not on the numerical math test. You are not allowed to use the following types of calculators: pocket organizers, hand held or laptop computers, electronic writing pads or pen-input devices, or models with QWERTY (typewriter style) keyboard. Specifically the following models are prohibited: Casio Algebra FX 2.0 and CFX 9970G, Texas Instruments TI 89 and TI92, HP 48GII and 40G and 49G.
